About CarnaFish

The team behind the app, our method for writing guides and the lure encyclopedia, and how to reach us.

CarnaFish is built by predator and saltwater anglers first, a product second. The app came out of a simple observation from the water's edge: anglers often spend more time hesitating over the right lure or the right spot than actually fishing.

What the app does

CarnaFish reads a photo of a fishing spot and cross-checks the day's conditions — weather, tide, season — to suggest a zone to fish, a family of lure and a retrieve. It also includes a catch log (the Vivier), a spot map and free monthly contests.

How we build the guides and the lure encyclopedia

Every fishing guide and every sheet in the lure encyclopedia is written from checkable sources: manufacturer spec sheets, data from specialist retailers, and practical knowledge of predator and saltwater fishing. The specs given for each lure — size, weight, running depth, recommended rig — are cross-checked against publicly available information at the time of writing.

Product ranges change often: a model can get replaced, renamed or offered in new sizes from one season to the next. We correct our sheets whenever a reference no longer matches what's actually sold.

Spotted a mistake?

The lure market moves fast, and despite our checks a sheet can contain an inaccuracy. If you spot one — a model name, a technical spec, a dead link — email us at contact@carnafish.com with the page's link and we'll fix it.
