1. Organiser
Contests are run by CarnaFish, the publisher of the app of the same name, reachable at contact@carnafish.com. CarnaFish is solely responsible for organising them, running them and awarding the prizes.
2. Apple and Google are not involved
Apple Inc. and Google LLC are not organisers, sponsors or partners of these contests, and take no part in them whatsoever. They neither sponsor, administer nor promote them, and cannot be held liable on any basis.
Any question, claim or dispute regarding a contest must be addressed exclusively to CarnaFish at the address above, and never to Apple or Google.
3. Entry
- Entry is entirely free and open to any CarnaFish account holder. No purchase is necessary to enter or to improve your chances.
- Minors may enter with the consent of their legal guardian, who will receive the prize where applicable.
- A contest runs between an opening and a closing date shown in the app. Catches entered after closing are not counted.
4. How to enter
- From the Contest screen in the app, choose Enter a catch and pick a catch from your Logbook.
- The catch must include a photo: without one it cannot be judged, and it does not appear in the list of eligible catches.
- Some contests require a specific species. It is then announced on the contest screen, and only catches of that species are accepted.
- You may enter several catches; each competes on its own. A given catch can only be entered once.
5. Ranking
The ranking is based on a single criterion: the length of the catch in centimetres, from largest to smallest. Nothing else — likes, account age, subscription — enters the calculation.
In the event of a tie on length, the catch entered earliest ranks first.
The ranking shown in the app updates continuously and is authoritative at closing.
6. Prizes
A contest may offer two prizes:
- a main prize, awarded to the highest-ranked angler among non-subscriber accounts;
- a Premium prize, awarded to the highest-ranked angler among subscriber accounts.
The ranking is computed in strictly the same way for everyone: a subscription gives no advantage on the score and does not affect the chances of winning the main prize.
The exact nature of the prizes is announced on the contest screen. Prizes are not exchangeable, transferable or convertible into cash.
7. Moderation and fair play
- Every entry is reviewed before appearing in the ranking. A non-compliant catch may be removed at any time.
- Catches must be genuine, personal and honest: authentic photo, accurate length, caught by the entrant during the contest period or recorded in good faith in their Logbook.
- Any cheating — someone else's photo, exaggerated length, re-used catch, multiple accounts — leads to immediate disqualification and, where applicable, withdrawal of the prize.
8. Fishing regulations
Every entry must comply with the regulations applicable at the fishing location: minimum sizes, protected species, closed seasons, quotas, permits and fishing rights. It is each entrant's responsibility to check them. A catch breaching those regulations is excluded from the contest.
9. Winners and prize delivery
Winners are determined at closing, from the final ranking, and contacted in the app. Without a reply within a reasonable time, the prize may be reassigned to the next entrant in the ranking.
Shipping costs are borne by CarnaFish, unless stated otherwise on the contest screen.
10. Personal data
Data processed for a contest (username, entered catch, photo, ranking) is used only to run the contest and determine the winners. Its processing is described in our privacy policy.
By entering, you agree that your username, catch photo and rank may be displayed in the contest's public ranking inside the app.
11. Amendment and cancellation
CarnaFish may amend, extend, shorten or cancel a contest where circumstances require it — in particular in the event of widespread fraud, a technical problem or a prize becoming unavailable. Entrants are informed in the app. No compensation may be claimed on that basis.
12. Acceptance and governing law
Entering a contest constitutes full acceptance of these rules, which supplement the Terms of Use. These rules are governed by French law, without prejudice to the protective rules of the entrant's country of habitual residence if they are a consumer. In the event of a dispute, an amicable solution will be sought first.
